Banking Regulations

Having a strong cadre of lawyers recognized for their experience in banking and finance law, Pinheiro Guimarães boasts of solid experience in specialized counseling to financial institutions on questions of both a consultative and adversary nature before the regulatory agencies for the banking sector, such as the Central Bank of Brazil and the Brazilian Securities Commission.

The regulatory-banking practice of Pinheiro Guimarães extends to questions regarding compliance with regulations applicable to the operations of financial institutions in Brazil; the organization, acquisition, divestiture and corporate reorganization of those institutions; and the constitution of subsidiaries and branches in Brazil.

Pinheiro Guimarães is regularly retained to advise on questions relating to foreign exchange regulations, such as international transfers, as well as registration of financial transactions (ROF) and of foreign capital (RDE-IED) before the Central Bank of Brazil.

At the same time, Pinheiro Guimarães stands out because of its technical and effective advocacy in representing financial institutions in administrative proceedings before regulatory agencies in the banking sector and before the Council for Appeals of the National Financial System.
